We also are removing these – BUT we have added lightweight blankets for each bed that can be used for this purpose and these will also be cleaned weekly. • ALL the dishes, silverware, cooking items, refrigerator/freezer, and outdoor grills will be freshened with the Vital Oxide. Finally, we have tried very hard to make you stay safe with us, and we are leaving extra cleaning materials for you should you think you want to do more. The historic Oak Grove Lodge was built at the turn of the century and is located on the north east side of Otsego Lake. The Lodge is updated while reflecting the charm of the era. It is a perfect place to spend a family, summer vacation. The lodge has 8 bedrooms, (sleeps 16), 2.5 baths and offers 200 feet of sandy beach. The Lodge sits on 3 acres of lake front property with a screened in boat house, (great for picnics, potlucks and barbecues.) While on the beach, watch spectacular sunsets while roasting marshmallows over the fire pit or grill on the park-style, charcoal grill. The Lodge makes a perfect place to hold a family reunion. Our family cottage is a single level ranch style layout with (2) bedrooms. The master is lakefront where you can hear the waves lapping the shore. The second bedroom is kid friendly with a rustic log bunk bed. A futon in the family room offers additional accommodations for 2 more guests. One full bath with tub/shower is available. The living room has a cathedral ceiling and knotty pine walls. The family room also displays local area taxidermy including an owl, a pheasant, a bear and a Lynxx that complete the cool "Up North" feeling. A gas stove heater warms on chilly nights, while a 32" flat screen with cable and premium movie channels, DVD/VHS combo player stands ready to entertain. Cute gaming table and a mixture of cards and board games are available for family bonding. Wireless high speed internet service is furnished to please those needing connection to the city life. A modern well equipped kitchen and dining room table helps make meals and entertaining a breeze. Laundry room offers a washer and dryer on site. I've owned The Cottage on Heart Lake for 34 years, the garage convinced me to buy, the house was very small (I later added on) but the garage was unique. Over the years, I bought the property next door, where in 2001, built the big house. So for the last 20 years, I've rented the cottage, as I look back, it went through different phases. 1st phase I moved out, renters moved in, which worked well and I didn't have to change anything. Later other phases were, new siding, new roofs, furnace, I never paid close attention to details. Lately though I've been renting from Homeowners through VBRO, Air B&B and I've paid close attention to my experience. Snowmobiling: All major brands of snowmobiles are represented with franchises in Gaylord. Parts service and rentals are all available within 6 miles of the cottage. A major loop of the Michigan snowmobile trail system is 100 feet away from the front door. Down Hill Skiing: Boyne mountain, Boyne Highlands, Tree Tops, Schuss, Shanty Creek, and the Otsego Club are all within a short to reasonable drive. Cross Country Skiing: Forbush, Pine Barrin, Aspen Park and the Pigeon River are all within a stones throw of the cottage. Maps and rental equipment is available.
